Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba is thrilled to announce the successful completion of initial and follow-up meetings in Taiwan as part of our ongoing effort to strengthen international partnerships. These meetings, held with two esteemed universities in Taiwan—National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and Ming Chuan University of Taiwan (MCU)—have opened up exciting possibilities for collaboration in various academic and cultural fields.
Initial Meeting with National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU)
On August 5, 2024, Ms. Janice Ilao, the Assistant Director of the Linkages and Alumni Office of the Colegio, had the privilege of meeting with the Executive Vice President of National Taiwan Normal University, Prof. Yao-Ting Sung. The discussion centered on exploring mutually beneficial collaborations, focusing on faculty exchange, research partnerships, and cultural exchange programs. The dialogue highlighted the shared commitment of both institutions to fostering a vibrant academic community that transcends borders.
Follow-up Meeting and Courtesy Visit to Ming Chuan University of Taiwan (MCU)
On August 7, 2024, Ms. Ilao visited Ming Chuan University of Taiwan for a follow-up meeting with the International Affairs Section. This visit was not only a gesture of goodwill but also an opportunity to delve deeper into potential collaborative efforts. The discussion between Ms. Ilao and the Section Head, Ms. Ivy Lin, and the Exchange Program Officer, Ms. Anne Chan, of International Affairs Section of the university were fruitful, focusing on student exchange programs that would allow our students to immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture and possibly spend a semester studying in Taiwan.
Ming Chuan University, renowned for its internationalization efforts, is an ideal partner for Letran Calamba as we strive to broaden our students' global perspectives. The potential student exchange program will offer our students an invaluable experience of living and learning in a different cultural environment, thereby enhancing their academic and personal growth.
Looking Ahead
The meetings with NTNU and MCU are just the beginning of what we anticipate a long and productive partnership with these prestigious institutions. By working together, we aim to create enriching opportunities for our students and faculty, fostering a dynamic and interconnected academic community.
